Safe, Code-Compliant Gas Piping in Milwaukee

Gas piping must deliver enough fuel for connected equipment while maintaining the correct pressure throughout the system. Pipe size, run length, appliance demand, shutoff placement, materials, and connection methods all affect how the line must be installed.

Mr. Holland’s installs, repairs, and replaces customer-owned gas piping for Milwaukee-area homes and businesses. Our plumbers work with lines serving furnaces, water heaters, ranges, dryers, fireplaces, generators, and other compatible equipment. Completed work is checked for leaks and compliance with applicable code requirements before the line is placed into service.

Gas Line Installation

A new gas appliance may require a dedicated line or an extension from the existing system. We determine the required pipe size by reviewing the appliance load, available gas supply, distance, and other connected equipment. The installation includes the necessary piping, shutoff, appliance connection, and pressure testing within the approved scope.

Gas Line Repair

Corrosion, physical damage, failed fittings, and leaking connections can make a gas line unsafe to operate. Repairs are completed only after the immediate hazard has been addressed and the gas supply can be worked on safely. The affected section is tested before service is restored.

Gas Line Replacement

You may need gas line replacement when piping is badly corroded, improperly sized, or unable to support added equipment. Depending on its condition, the project may involve one section or a longer run between the supply and appliance.

What To Do If You Suspect a Gas Leak

Natural gas is treated with an odorant often compared to sulfur or rotten eggs. Other warning signs can include hissing near a pipe, blowing dirt, bubbling water, or unexplained dead vegetation around a buried line. If you notice any of these signs, leave the area immediately. Don’t operate light switches, appliances, phones, garage door openers, vehicles, or anything else that could create a spark. From a safe location, call 911 or your gas utility company. Don’t return until the utility or emergency responders say it is safe.

If your carbon monoxide alarm sounds, leave the building and call 911. Carbon monoxide has no odor, so it shouldn’t be treated like a routine gas-line service call.
